Terms & Conditions

When you engage in business with Nation Options the following terms and conditions come into effect.

January 2026 – June 2026 Nation Options

The following document sets out the terms and conditions of service for Nation Options Limited. By using the Nation Options service/s you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Price Comparison / Switching Service

Nation Options provides a price comparison / switching service to UK businesses. To be eligible you must:

  • Be a business resident in the UK
  • Be eighteen years or older (if a sole trader)
  • Meet the credit scoring requirements of any supplier

If you accept a quotation and a contract is executed between you and the supplier, the contract is binding and you will not be permitted to revoke acceptance.

Charges

Nation Options is remunerated directly by suppliers via a commission uplift within your unit cost. Our average uplift is a few percent of your total energy cost (typically around 1p). Further information on commission can be requested from our Customer Services team.

Duplicate contract fees / Change of Tenancy / Failure to go live

If you enter into a duplicate contract, move premises without notifying us, or fail to provide required information causing a contract to fail, Nation Options reserves the right to charge a £750 + VAT fee per meter (or the total commission we would have earned, whichever is higher).

June 2026 Onwards – Business Essential Services Limited T/A Nation Options

Business Essential Services Limited (registered in England & Wales No. 05949018), trading as Nation Options. Registered office: 17 Gibraltar Terrace, Dalkeith, Scotland, EH22 1ED.

1. Definitions

Key terms include: "Nation Options", "Customer", "Supplier", "Supply Contract", "Switching Service", "Price Comparison Service", "Contract Cancellation Administration Fee" (£150 + VAT).

2. Application of Terms

These Terms apply to the provision of any Service and prevail over any other terms unless agreed in writing by Nation Options.

3. Subscribing to the Services

To register, you must be a UK business, aged 18+ (sole trader), meet credit score criteria, and provide accurate information.

4. Provision of Services

Price Comparison Service: We provide Quotations from Suppliers. Acceptance of a Quotation is a non-revocable offer.

Switching Service: If your offer is accepted, we arrange the Supply Contract. You must check all details within 24 hours. If you decide not to proceed after acceptance, we may charge a £150 + VAT Contract Cancellation Administration Fee.

Contract Checking Service: Requires a signed Letter of Authority. We are not responsible for delays by your Existing Supplier.

5. Charges

No direct fee for Services (except the £150 cancellation fee). Nation Options is remunerated by commission from Suppliers, included in your rates. You can request commission details by emailing info@nationoptions.co.uk with your Customer ID.

Late payment of any administration fee will incur interest at 8% per annum above the statutory rate.

6. Customer’s obligations

You must cooperate, provide accurate information, keep your account details confidential, and comply with Supplier terms.

7. Intellectual property rights

All IP in the Services, Site, and materials remains owned by Nation Options.

8. Termination & Indemnity

We may terminate if you breach these Terms or commit fraud. You agree to indemnify Nation Options against claims arising from your use of the Services.

9. Limitation on Liability

Our total liability for a mistake, act or omission is strictly limited to the lesser of: (i) the amount you would have saved but for our mistake; or (ii) the commission fee we earned from the Supplier for your contract.

We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, data loss, or loss of business opportunity. We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any matter that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Data protection

We handle personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for details.

11. Force majeure

We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., strikes, natural disasters, supplier default).

12–17. General provisions

No waiver, severability, third party rights (except indemnity clause 8.2), transfer of rights, entire agreement, and governing law (England & Wales, exclusive jurisdiction).
